What beta testers get

  • Every feature, free for the whole beta.
  • New builds as they're ready, published on GitHub.
  • A say in what's next. Report bugs and ideas on GitHub Issues.

What you need

  • A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
  • A Google account for Google Calendar, Google Tasks and Gmail, if you use them.
  • Apple Reminders works through macOS, with your permission.
  • For the optional AI features: Claude Code, the Codex app or CLI, or an API key from your AI provider.

Installing a beta build

The current DayBoard app and its disk image are signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Starting with beta 12, DayBoard updates itself. On beta 11 or earlier, install the latest beta over it once.

  1. Quit DayBoard if it's running. Download the .dmg from the download page, open it and drag DayBoard into your Applications folder. If an older beta is there, replace it. Your DayBoard data stays in place.
  2. Open DayBoard from Applications. If macOS asks whether to open an app downloaded from the internet, click Open.
  3. To connect Google, go to Settings → Sources and click Sign in with Google. DayBoard isn't verified by Google yet, so Google shows "Google hasn't verified this app". Click Continue to allow access.

While DayBoard is in Google's testing stage, only invited Google accounts can sign in, so connect the account you signed up with. During that stage Google also ends the sign-in after 7 days, so you'll sign in again every week.

Only install DayBoard from the official GitHub release. If macOS ever says it can't check DayBoard for malicious software, don't open that copy; download it again from GitHub.
